Director SS Rajamouli has joined hands with South superstar Mahesh Babu for his upcoming film SSMB29.
While there is no official announcement about the project yet, the filmmaker seems to be teasing the audience through his latest Instagram post.
On Saturday, SS Rajamouli took to Instagram and shared a short clip with a majestic lion, in which he is seen holding an Indian passport in his hand.
The simple clip shows the lion locked in a cage, indicating that Mahesh Babu is locked in the cage as he is busy shooting for his film.
It reads “Caption”.
For those who don’t know, the lion here refers to Mahesh Babu as his fans call him ‘Sher’ ever since he dubbed for Mufasa in the Telugu version of the Disney film.
Reacting to the post, Mahesh Babu recalled a famous dialogue from his 2006 blockbuster film Pokiri and wrote in Telugu, “Once I make a commitment, I won’t even listen to my own words.”
Actress Priyanka Chopra, who plays the lead female role in SSMB29, seemed to confirm her association with her comment.
She commented, “Finally.”

SSMB29
Earlier, SSMB29 was discussed at the RRR Japan screening.
The veteran director said, “We have started my next film. We have finished writing. We are in the pre-production process. We are doing all the pre-visualization work for the film. But we haven’t finished the casting yet. Only the main hero, i.e. the protagonist of the film, is locked. His name is Mahesh Babu. He is a Telugu actor.”
When the crowd started cheering on hearing Mahesh Babu’s name, SS Rajamouli said, “It seems many of you already know him.” She is very beautiful, I hope to finish the film soon. I will bring her here at the time of release. And I will introduce her to you and I am sure you will like her too.
Talking about the rest of the cast, Prithviraj Sukumaran is also a part of the project and is playing the villain.
This will be a two-part epic.
